Media accreditation is available for side event “Public Policies to Combat Hunger and Poverty: Empowering Women and Girls for Sustainable Development”

Accreditation is now open to the media for event “Public Policies to Combat Hunger and Poverty: Empowering Women and Girls for Sustainable Development” which will be held in parallel with the meeting of the G20 Task Force for the Establishment of a Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, in Rio de Janeiro, on July 24.
The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Galpão da Cidadania, in a panel discussion format, with the following participants:
● First Lady of Brasil, Janja Lula da Silva
● Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina
● Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP), Cindy McCain
● President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Álvaro Lario
● President of Brasil’s National Food and Nutrition Security Council [Conselho Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional/CONSEA], Elisabetta Recine
The panel will be moderated by activist Sabrina Dhowre Elba, who is also chair of the Europe Board of Global Citizen and UN Goodwill Ambassador for IFAD.
Accreditation is open until July 22. Media professionals who meet the requirements will receive confirmation by e-mail.
There may be a maximum limit of credentials to be issued per vehicle, taking into account the need to ensure the largest possible presence of media outlets and the capacity of the press room. Applying for accreditation is not a guarantee that a press credential will be issued.
