On the third day of the Summit, the mantra repeated by social movements was echoed among representatives of the Y20, the G20 Social Youth Engagement group. On Wednesday, 14, at Ação Cidadania, a renowned social and cultural center in Rio de Janeiro, young people were responsible for the center of the discussions, reaffirming the importance of their active participation in building solutions to global challenges.

The sessions open to the public explored issues such as combating climate change, youth-focused adaptation policies, and the role of young people in entrepreneurship and the labor market, demonstrating the diversity and complexity of the topics addressed. In the panels “Juventudes construindo um mundo justo e um planeta sustentável” and “Inclusão e Diversidade,” representatives from several organizations discussed strategies to eradicate hunger and reduce global inequalities, highlighting the urgency of coordinated actions.

Marcus Barão, Chair of Y20, highlighted the relevance of involving young people at all levels of decision-making. "We are here to ensure that the voices of young people are heard and that our demands are taken seriously. We cannot build the future without those who will live it. The Y20's commitment is to a real response to the problems faced by the young population, not to the poetry of institutional spaces. We need concrete actions, "he said. The event, marked by its diversity and global reach, is reverberating on social networks worldwide, with live broadcasts and publications shared by participants.

The afternoon will be dedicated to the discussions of the Brazilian Youth Working Groups, where concrete proposals in critical areas such as inclusion, diversity, and sustainable development will be discussed. These groups reflect the plurality of the world's youth, who brought unique experiences and perspectives. “The challenge is to find unity to solve global challenges, and we hope to achieve that. We want a strong, representative communication that reflects the voices of young people, "emphasized Barão.

The activities continue until Friday, with presentations from the working groups highlighting young people's ability to influence decision-making at the global level. The day ends with a series of activities focused on culture and sustainability, promoting an integrated development vision that requires young people's active participation. In parallel, meetings are held with representatives of all G20 countries to prepare the Summit communiqué.

The Chair emphasizes the importance of opening spaces so young people can participate directly in the discussions: "We believe that the free press and social participation are fundamental for constructing a democratic society. The Y20 summit can no longer be an elitist space; it needs to reflect the voices of all young people, including those who do not have direct access to this process. ”
